Virtual Currencies and their impact on Electronic Commerce
Abstract
In the past few years, payment methods have evolved in electronic commerce sites, as new currencies have emerged that compete with tradition-money. These currencies are called virtual currencies, and it has been widely used in many websites, which has led to new challenges in electronic commercial transactions. Due to the importance of this topic, this research dealt with the relationship between virtual currencies and their impact on electronic commerce sites, to achieve the objectives of this re-search, the analytical method was taken to study the nature of virtual currencies, while determining their impact on electronic commerce. The results of this research showed the virtual currencies have characteristics that distinguish them from traditional currencies, and has quick exchange between its dealers, and unlimited geographical scope, these features make it an attractive element in electronic commerce. In this research, we reached several recommendations, which is that virtual currencies lead to an increase in electronic commerce transactions and help in the speed and spread of electronic commerce, and it can be traded in any location in the world. We have sought this research to be a basis for future research that complements this research.
