Abstract

This research addresses the Sharia standards for the halal industry and their applications in Libyan institutions. The researcher adopted an inductive, analytical, and comparative approach. The study examined the Sharia regulations governing the halal industry and the most important international standards for the halal industry. It also addressed the key steps Libya has taken in the halal industry. Among the most important findings are: The process of granting a halal certification in Libya involves evaluation, monitoring, sample collection, and verification that the products are free of prohibited substances. Halal certificates are also reviewed to ensure they are issued by a reliable authority. Several companies in Libya have been granted halal certification, including Al-Jaid and Al-Safi
