Highlights on the anti-bribery system Issued by Royal Decree No. M/36 dated 12/29/1412 AH
Abstract
The crime of bribery represents an assault on the objectives of Islamic law and what it aims for in terms of harmony, mutual exhortation to truth, and cooperation in righteousness and piety. It is also an assault on public interests, a threat to them, and a violation of the concept of public office, as it is measured primarily by the idea of trading in the work of the office or exploiting it in an illegal manner that contradicts its objectives, because effort and work are the basis of earning, while bribery is earning money without effort or work. Therefore, the interest protected in it is preserving the prestige and dignity of the office and the smooth running of work in public facilities in order to achieve the desired goal of carrying out the job activity.
