Proportional Fines as a Mechanism for Combating Corruption Crimes

This topic discussed the penalty of a relative fine and its role in combating corruption in Libyan criminal legislation. This research is based on a central question: How effective is the relative fine in combating corruption crimes in Libyan criminal legislation? This research was divided into two requirements. In the first requirement, we discussed the nature of the relative fine penalty and the most important characteristics that distinguish it from other penalties. In the second requirement, we addressed the mechanism of applying the relative fine as an effective means of combating corruption crimes.
The research reached a number of results, the most important of which are: The majority of corruption crimes stipulated in Libyan criminal legislation face custodial penalties that range between imprisonment and imprisonment depending on the seriousness of the act and the criminal seriousness of the offender. As for the penalty of a relative fine, it is considered small compared to other penalties, in addition to the penalty of The relative fine is a deterrent and effective punishment for combating corruption crimes of a financially profitable nature.
