International care of children during armed conflict Reading in international humanitarian law
Abstract
The research dealt with a very important topic, and the issue raised the following questions: the scope of providing laws with real protection for children in battles and the extent of awareness of children's rights and international rules of war. The research aimed to demonstrate the extent of the availability of securing children during armed conflicts in international humanitarian law and addressing their effects and the role of the United Nations and the Red Cross and Red Crescent in protecting children. The research used the integrative approach, and the research reached several conclusions, the most important of which are: working to reformulate international legal systems in line with international developments and the lack of awareness of the law of protecting civilians in war and the rights of children during armed conflicts, and that armed conflicts lead to depriving children of their basic rights. The research reached some recommendations, the most important of which are: increasing awareness of children's rights and the rules of war, giving international humanitarian law as a subject in educational institutions, integrating the rules of international war and the law of protecting civilians, and the accession of countries that have not joined the basic treaties of the law of armed conflict and completing international pledges and international legal measures.
