God Almighty’s honoring of man is manifested in all aspects of life. To preserve dignity, He, the Almighty, forbade humiliating oneself through humiliation, poverty, and the invocation of weakness and helplessness, to achieve illegitimate worldly interests. God Almighty said: “And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.” And in the noble hadith, “The strong believer is better and more beloved to God than the weak believer, and in each is good.” Also, “The believer should not humiliate himself.” Among the illegitimate worldly interests that have become widespread in our society is the phenomenon of begging, which requires concerted efforts by launching community awareness campaigns and taking urgent deterrent measures to curb the phenomenon of begging in Libyan society.
