Sovereignty between expansion and decline
Abstract
Since the state is based on three basic elements: territory, people, and authority, and since these elements are almost unique to the state from the rest of the subjects of international law, if these elements are complete, the state has the right to exercise its powers over its territory and over its residents, and these powers and competencies that the state has are unique to what is known as sovereignty. If sovereignty means the set of competencies and powers that the state exercises over its territory and over its residents, therefore its concept has been linked in the past to what that state possesses of armies and power in confronting other states and even in confronting its residents, but this matter, although it has taken humanity a long time, but as a result of conflicts and the need to organize relations between states, many agreements have emerged that organized these relations.
